Hillsburgh Baptist Church

Hillsburgh Baptist ChurchCOVID-19 Strategy Following a joint meeting of the Directors and Deacons, the following is an update on the actions being taken in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic. The objective of this plan is to ensure the health of everyone while mitigating the risk of spread to the vulnerable in our church, local community, and to our shut-ins.It was agreed that the following actions be taken.

We trust you are well and coping with the closures, cancellations, distancing and hand washing protocols. As a church we also pray that these protocols are keeping the virus away. The sooner we can flatten the curve, the sooner we can once again come together as a church family.

Recently, our deacons opted, in the interest of public and congregational health, to extend the cancelation of all church services and activities until April 30th.

Therefore, Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter services will not be held in the church. Like Christmas, this time of year, is supposed to be a social and celebratory season. Instead, we will be staying home and keeping our distance. These protocols are necessary. But, it won’t feel like Easter. Even though there will be no palm branches, no cross, no hymns, nor being together we do have hope and excitement.

The truth embedded in Easter is undiminished by cancelled services. So, Celebrate!

We realize that the COVID-19 pandemic is causing physical, emotional, social, financial, and spiritual stress on each of us. Be assured that we are here to support you and your family as best we can. If there is something we can do, please email the pastor.

In the meantime, watch our service videos and/or do the devotionals. Click on the “Sermons” tab above.

We will get through this, together with God’s grace and help.

In his name, be safe, be healthy, and pray!

Pastor Gord

We at Hillsburgh VBS are currently planning our 2020 program. At this time we plan to continue with our program from July 27-31, 2020. However we recognize the COVID-19 crisis and are monitoring it on a regular basis. As we get closer to summer, if it seems the crisis has not been averted, for the safety of all we will cancel our summer 2020 VBS program. We hope you are all safe and well during this time and we hope to see you this summer.
