COVID-19 Strategy

Following a meeting of the Deacons, the following is an update on the actions being taken in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic.

The objective of this plan is to ensure the health of everyone while mitigating the risk of spread to the vulnerable in our church, local community, and to our shut-ins.

It was agreed that the following actions be taken.

Greetings,

Statement from the deacons committee:

"September 19th Update from the HBC Deacons

Tomorrow’s outdoor service is cancelled. The deacons made this tough decision during a Zoom call today. This is based on the following factors.

  1. Today’s announcement by the Ontario government restricting province wide “private-social gatherings” for the next 28 days,

  2. The dramatic increase in COVID-19 cases over the past two weeks from 80/day to 400+/day,

  3. The cooler Fall temperatures,

  4. The desire for HBC to set the example in mitigating the risk of COVID-19 to our people and the community at large.

The deacons long to see a return to public worship and fellowship but are not willing to do so if it will endanger the health of those in our church or community.

The deacons will discuss re-opening of the church during their October 1st meeting.

In the meantime recorded services will continue.

As well the deacons are exploring ways in which we might stay connected.

Any suggestions/ideas that you have would be appreciated and should be sent to a deacon or the pastor."

In his name, be safe, be healthy, and pray!

Pastor Gord
